Position Summary

The Infrastructure Operations Engineer supports the AVP of Infrastructure Operations in monitoring and maintaining the health of all the environments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create dashboards, reporting systems, and internal communications aligned to different audience levels.
  • Monitor servers, networks, and computer systems ensuring that they work reliably and securely using dashboards and alert management systems.
  • Oversee troubleshooting processes by launching alerting processes and coordinating service restoration.
  • Oversee hybrid cloud administration and operations (including AWS Cloud Infrastructure/ Platform, and VMware), storage and network operations, remote networks, and edge IT operations.
  • Responsible for facilitating the delivery of communications of Infrastructure-related outage/emergency activities to the enterprise leaders and regulators
  • Responsible for managing and renewing certificates of various components.
  • Identify gaps and evaluate current IT infrastructure and identify technologies and projects to improve the security, scalability, and reliability of the overall environment.
  • Manage and support infrastructure engineers who own the production, staging, and development environments
  • Influence and partner with senior leaders across functions, communicating with external parties as needed
  • Drive weekly execution planning meetings to coordinate with various stakeholders - product engineering, infrastructure support teams, and other owners to track the delivery of tasks and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Develop documentation and presentation materials to communicate project status and plans, ensuring at-risk milestones have concise descriptions and mitigation details.
  • Support the development of technical and process standards for IT infrastructure architecture.
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, Cloud-based initiatives, and related technologies including migrations
  • General understanding of Infrastructure components such as Load Balancers, Firewalls, Web Servers, Application Servers, Database Servers, Certificates etc.
  • General understanding of virtualization, client/server, infrastructure hardware, monitoring, modernization, and hardware lifecycle
  • General understanding of enterprise networking, cloud networking, network security, IP ranges, VLANs, VETs, and DNS.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware ESXi hypervisors
  • Intermediate knowledge of AWS Cloud Services, Storage Systems, Disaster Recovery
  • Minimum of 1 year in writing automation scripts using PowerShell, Ansible, or similar scripting language is required
  • Working experience in an OnPrem and Cloud environment is required
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership with a track record in delivering major technology projects
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and as a contributing member in a high-performing and focused team
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and thrive in a flexible, fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations
  • Strong communication and writing skills that lead to clear, concise, and unambiguous technical and non-technical documentation including requirements, infrastructure design documentation, and project presentations.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent education/experience
  • Knowledge of Cl/CD pipeline tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, or equivalent
  • Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining containerized software in OpenShift or Kubernetes is a plus
  • Experience in Banking/financial services or large complex and/ or global environment preferred
