Position Summary

This position is a part of the Risk Management department. Our risk professionals are tasked with identifying revenue opportunities and risk trends by monitoring the performance of our existing portfolio, growth opportunities, and general market trends. We develop and implement strategies for credit line increases, authorizations, collection, fraud, retention, reinstatement, and the sale of revenue-based products. 
Essential job responsibilities include developing and maintaining reports to track volume growth and vintage performance and profitability, presenting findings to senior management, and making recommendations for opportunities for incremental growth. 

In the role of Senior Risk Analyst, you will focus on managing the Bank’s portfolio. You will have the opportunity to become a subject matter expert regarding all portfolio composition, loss rate calculation, forecasting, credit bureau attributes, profit & loss drivers, and portfolio scores. 


Essential Job Functions:

  • Identify and execute revenue opportunities for new and existing account management programs, including but not limited to Retention, Reinstatement, and Unwinds.
  • Compile data from the internal data warehouse and perform extensive data analysis.
  • Make recommendations based on well-constructed analytics and present ideas to key stakeholders of the Bank.
  • Analyze portfolio performance to identify revenue opportunities and risk factors at an early stage.
  • Analyze the performances of individual accounts and derive data-driven strategies for risk, collections, and/or marketing treatment strategies.
  • Implement performance-based treatment strategies including credit limit adjustments.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to policies, procedures, requirements, and deliverables related to strategic projects related to Retention, Reinstatement, Unwinds, Open/Inactives, and Authorization Expansion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of previous financial services experience is required; credit card industry experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative area such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Advanced software competencies using SAS Enterprise Guide and Miner and/or SQL, Tableau, and Excel.
  • Effective data mining skills and the ability to explain changing data dynamics.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and follow up to ensure achievement of deadlines, outcomes, and results.
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and documentation
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and in working with remote team members
