Position Summary

Responsible for ensuring that the bank’s models are implemented correctly and in a timely manner, and that models operate on schedule without error. Utilizes knowledge of data structures, programming and reporting to an efficient and effective operating environment for the bank’s models.  
  

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Work with Risk and IT teams to implement various types of models in production across different platforms.
  • Create and maintain model operations pipeline to minimize execution downtime.
  • Build out a system of preventative and detective controls to ensure that model input and output are correct. Work with Risk Governance team to document the controls in established templates.
  • Work with Modeling team to build out automated model performance monitoring dashboards.
  • When model execution errors occur, carry out investigation to determine the root cause and resolve the issue.
  • Initiate research and development on new modeling operations infrastructure and tools that provides better model job execution.
  • Lead and develop a model operations team, including training and career development.

Position Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in Model Operations, Model Production or similar IT execution role.
  • Experience with incident troubleshooting and reporting.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science, mathematics, data science, or related field.
  • Proficient in SAS, SQL and Python.
  • People management skills with a proven ability to oversee tasks and responsibilities for a team of employees of varying levels and skillsets.
  • Ability to develop executable strategies, develop others, articulate a clear vision, and deliver results.
  • Ability to influence decision makers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meeting business goals.
  • Experience in or understanding of credit card financing business model in consumer lending business segment desirable.
