Position Summary
The primary objective of the Security Analyst is to maintain real-time security intelligence, awareness, and responsiveness.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Respond to alerts generated from DLP, EDR, and WAF security products
- Utilize monitoring technologies including SIEM, logging, etc.
- Validate, triage, and quantify suspected security issues and events
- Escalate serious security issues to the Security Engineering team
- Represent IT Security on Operations Center conference calls
- Leverage understanding of basic networking: TCP/IP, ethernet, etc.
- Monitor industry for threat trends, exploits, vulnerabilities, etc.
- Participate in operational planning and security engineering efforts
- Collaborate with various infrastructure teams to improve security operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Functional grasp of TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Internet technologies
- Working knowledge of computer terminology in general
- Familiarity with operating systems including Linux and Windows
- Fluency in a scripting language such as Python or PowerShell
- Diligence and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize activities by severity
- Ability to stay effective under pressure
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A strong teamwork ethic
- Ability to work with multiple roles and departments
- Reasoning and analyzing complex information
