Position Summary
As a member of the Marketing Communications team, the Senior Copywriter role works closely with the account management and creative services teams to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging. The position conducts independent research and writes and edits copy for a variety of projects across all channels--translating marketing objectives into captivating content that is on-brand and provides value to current and prospective card members. In addition to excellent writing skills, the ideal candidate has experience planning and creating cross-platform digital content aimed at fostering engagement.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
  • Writing original marketing copy for ads, direct marketing, email, web, and social networks
  • Researching industry-related topics and identifying gaps in content strategy
  • Developing content to grow and nurture our prospect audience through owned channels like our Credit One Central content hub, earned media, and paid channels as appropriate.
  • Liaising with designers to enrich text with visualization
  • Editing, fact-checking, and otherwise proofreading content for adherence to brand guidelines and legal compliance standards
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders from across the Bank
  • Maintaining a high standard of quality, accuracy, and adherence to project deadlines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, marketing, or related field
  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Ability to simplify diverse, complex ideas into clear, concise copy for a wide spectrum of consumers
  • Competent with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Must demonstrate company core values of excellence, ownership, collaboration, and integrity
