Position Summary 

The Risk Analyst II will be responsible for analytics and reporting pertaining to Collections Risk management and operational performance optimization. The ideal candidate will utilize prior Risk Management experience, coupled with the knowledge of machine learning tools and operational processes, to appropriately manage risk in the Collections space.


Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Support, manage, and monitor daily production reports for Collections.
  • Navigate through a complex data environment for analysis.
  • Perform auditing and quality control to ensure that standards are maintained.
  • Identify new strategies and efficiencies in collections to mitigate risk and maximize returns.
  • Assist in hypothesis development, analysis, test design, test vs. control analysis, development of recommendations, and oversight of implementation.
  • Develop, validate, and/or review reports for management.
  • Partner with various stakeholders (both internal and external) to implement and assess strategy changes.
  • Use sophisticated machine learning techniques to develop customer risk strategies & segmentation.
  • Apply forecasting techniques for volume allocation.
  • Communicate policy changes, test recommendations, program approvals, MIS and performance trends with key stakeholders, senior management, and external regulators.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Operational teams to develop a strong understanding of Operations’ capabilities and to ensure flawless policy execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, statistics, economics, data science, or another quantitative field with 3 years of risk management experience. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Understanding of risk management and predictive modeling. Experience in machine learning techniques and time series forecasting.
  • Experience in, or understanding of, credit card financing business model in consumer lending business segment desirable.
  • Proficient in SAS/SQL, (or other related analytic tools) Tableau, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to develop executable strategies and deliver results.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, conceptual, and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meet business goals.
