Position Summary
The Portfolio Risk Management Finance group manages the risk and reward tradeoff of credit risk decisions, performs diagnostics to understand how the credit card portfolio is changing, forecasts the expected financial performance of credit decisions and strategic changes, while keeping the shareholders’ interests at the forefront of any decision making.
As a Vice President leading the PRM Finance group, you will partner closely with finance, credit, fraud, marketing, and product groups as we optimize our credit risk decisions and boost value of the bank’s bottom line. In addition, you will own the P&L database, support the implementation of financial tools, and improve processes to drive better decisions. You will be a critical stakeholder driving solutions to risk management business problems through innovation and modernization. This role requires an individual who is a self-starter, fosters teamwork and collaboration across various stakeholders and partners outside of the Credit Risk Management department.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead a large, high performing team of finance professionals
- Create and maintain multi-year financial models, assessing the impact of strategic decisions and trade-offs on the P&L
- Support the monthly credit campaign optimization processes for both card acquisitions and existing cardmember management by providing financial inputs
- Provide insightful business financial information to senior leadership
- Continue to improve existing processes to provide detailed analysis on the credit risk decisions and portfolio performance
- Build strong working relationships by partnering with internal stakeholders across the bank
- Identify opportunities to modernize technology, processes, dashboards, and forecasting to provide better inputs to decision making
- Facilitate the implementation of best practices within the group
- Possess working knowledge of internal financial reporting systems, operating model and deliverables.
- Develop presentations and executive materials to analyze and articulate observations and provide recommendations
- Perform ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 7+ years of related experience - financial services, credit card strategy, and/or banking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability speaking/ presenting to various levels of management.
- Excellent time management and organization skill with a clear demonstrated ability to multi-task and react in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
- Demonstrates flexibility, adapts to shifting priorities, embraces ambiguity and navigates through change positively while helping to remove challenges/blockers.
- Intermediate technical competencies using SAS Enterprise Guide / Miner, Python, and/or SQL, Excel, and Tableau.
