Position Summary 

Credit One Bank is seeking a Vice President, Partnership Management to lead and develop our strategic  payment networks with primary responsibility for managing three (3) credit card network partners.  This includes building and maintaining relationships while driving new opportunities for growth and profit based on collaborative cooperation with internal stakeholders.  This role will handle contract negotiations and ensure the successful execution of key initiatives.  The position is highly visible across Credit One Bank and involves frequent interactions with executive leaders and external partners.
 
The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial service professional with experience in payment networks, credit cards, and a good understanding of the payments ecosystem, trends, economics, and value chain.    
 

Summary of Essential Job Functions: 

  • Responsible for the strategy, relationships, and overall execution required to manage key relationships with payment networks
  • Subject matter expert and thought leader on network partners’ strengths and weaknesses to guide decisions with executives and business units
  • Strategize with internal stakeholders including Product, Marketing, and Risk teams to ensure optimal network revenue and support growth initiatives
  • Be the bridge between external partners and internal stakeholders to drive the successful execution of strategic initiatives and projects  
  • Liaises and educates internally on relevant strategies in the payment space, watches for trends, and is seen as a go-to resource for other internal partners
  • Understands the relevant market trends, regulations, and competitor activity, and be able to identify the “so what” for the partner
  • Leads contracting and negotiating while working with business owners, senior management, and legal on deal terms
  • Leads partner management responsibilities including formal reviews, holding networks accountable for performance metrics, service level agreements, and governance to ensure all contractual obligations are met
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting performance results including quarterly reviews to management and partners 
 

Position Requirements & Key Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • 7+ years of payment experience
  • Consumer credit industry experience; background in managing or working for payment networks is desired
  • A proven track record in leading enterprise relationships, extensive account management experience, and the ability to build and communicate effective value propositions
  • Able to lead customer-facing and internal meetings, and engage all parties to get to the heart of issues and/or opportunities
  • Able to build consensus across a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to deliver value for both Credit One Bank and the partners
  • Action-oriented with strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
  • Comfortable with C-level discussions
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills both internally and externally with the ability to work with partners across different functions and levels
  • Ability to navigate complex deals and conversations, and handle the negotiating and contracting process
  • Ability to articulate complicated concepts and influence where necessary
  • Values partnerships and relationship building across an organization
