Position Summary:
Responsible for advanced analytics and strategy pertaining to operational performance optimization. Utilizes prior risk management experience, coupled with a solid understanding of operational processes and advanced data analytics, to appropriately manage credit and operations risk.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and lead a highly effective data analytics team.
- Identify new strategies and efficiencies in operations to mitigate risk and maximize returns.
- Partner with others (both inside & outside the team) to propose, assess and implement strategy changes.
- Use sophisticated analytical techniques and models to develop risk strategies, segment customer populations, perform profile based prediction of customer or operational outcomes and increase operational performance and efficiency.
- Develop, validate and review management reporting.
- Develop hypotheses and perform causal analysis, data analytics of intentional or natural experiments, effect sizing, uncertainty quantification and financial impact sizing
- Communicate policy changes and test recommendations, program approvals, MIS and performance trends with key stakeholders, senior management and external regulators.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Operational teams to develop a strong understanding of Operations’ capabilities and to ensure flawless execution of policy.
- Manage analytics personnel and develop the team in operational performance optimization, experimental design principles, data management, financial tracking practices, and model usage and problem detection.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in risk management, with a focus on operations preferred.
- Master’s degree in industrial engineering, economics, statistics, data science, advanced analytics or related field preferred.
- Experience in or understanding of credit card financing business model in consumer lending business segment desirable.
- Proficient in SAS/SQL. Probabilistic programming, R/Python a plus.
- Understanding of targeting and segmentation, retail analytic tools and advanced skills using Excel.
- Demonstrated success leading with proven track record of delivering results. Management experience preferred.
- Ability to develop executable strategies, develop others, articulate a clear vision, and deliver results.
- Experience building and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership, creative and analytical skills.
- Take initiative and ownership for areas of responsibility.
- Ability to influence decision makers.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to innovate and find creative solutions to meeting business goals.
