Position Summary
The Solution Architect for Digital Bank is responsible for leading the architectural designs for the enterprise-level software applications for Digital Bank. They will be responsible for technical design for new projects and enhancements of the existing applications. In this position, they will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative technology solutions that enhance customer experience, streamline operations, and support the strategic objectives of C1B deposits and savings banking services.
The Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the technology strategy for our digital banking initiatives. This position requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure digital banking solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the banking landscape, emerging technologies, and customer-centric digital experiences. This role will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that our digital banking products meet market needs and align with the strategic goals of the organization.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Lead the design and architecture of digital banking solutions including online banking platforms, transactional systems, mobile applications, payment systems, APIs and environments
- Act as a primary contact for the business partner team to gather requirements, analyze use cases, and translate them into actionable technical specifications for internal applications as well as vendor related solutions
- Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance digital banking offerings and improve operational efficiency
- Ensure that all solutions are compliant with industry regulations and security standards, implementing best practices for data protection and risk management
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, guiding them through the implementation process
- Conduct architectural reviews and assessments, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and strategic objectives
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to drive continuous improvement of digital banking solutions.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural designs, processes, and standards.
- Facilitate and drive critical technology decisions with senior technology stakeholders
- Possess a deep understanding of the business processes and the intricacies of the solutions implemented
- Knowledge of architectural, design, and coding best practices, including the ability to devise, defend, and communicate them to developer teams
- Troubleshoot and solve technical challenges common to large IT organizations trying to meet ever-rising expectations of the business
- Work with platform squads to define web engineering standards, best practices, and tooling
- Stay ahead of the curve by aligning architecture, user experience, and security with chapters and COEs
- Collaborate with cross-functional technology and product teams to build, test and deploy products
- Identify opportunities to optimize existing architect, solutions and environments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a focus on digital banking or financial services
- 5+ years of professional experience designing publicly available Web and mobile applications using JavaScript and frameworks like Angular or React, supported by RESTful web services
- Experience with microservices architecture, APIs, and digital payment solutions
- Familiarity with customer experience design principles and UX/UI best practices
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., PSD2, GDPR)
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful digital banking solutions.
- Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and regulations.
- Proficiency in modern software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps) and cloud technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and execute effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Leadership skills to manage and mentor a team of developers across varying levels of skill and experience
- Self-starter who is highly motivated, collaborative, and innovative

Preferred
- Experience working in retail banking specifically Digital Banking for deposits and savings accounts
- Experience working with Finxact or similar banking core platforms
