Position Summary
The Systems Engineer IV manages and oversees design, administration, support and maintenance of enterprise-level Kafka systems. The Engineer also provides expert professional assistance and internal consulting to departments on technical infrastructure design and support issues to meet business, operating and data management needs.

Position Requirements
- BS Degree and or equivalent work experience in a technical discipline
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in advanced technical roles with substantive knowledge of Kafka architecture, concepts, disaster recovery scenarios, and best practices.
- Proven experience in administering and supporting AWS MSK Clusters.
- Must be able to work closely within a high-performing team. Good attitude and ability to assist and integrate with other engineers are essential.
- Familiarity with system and application monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and AppDynamics
- Practical understanding of networking - routing, subnets, UDP, TCP, IP, & VLANs.
- Must have strong communication skills and ability to work individually, within a team, with other groups and with customers.
- Must have ability to communicate complex technical problems concisely and professionally to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable managing highly available complex infrastructure with 24/7 availability and support.
Preferred
- Experience in administering Confluent platform Brokers, Zookeepers, Schema registry, Restproxy, Ksql, Connectors and Control Center, Topics, ACLs etc.,
- Experience with Kafka REST API and AdminClient
- Knowledge of AWS Cloud
- Knowledge of Confluent Cloud
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of software containerization and Kubernetes.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell).
- Automate installations and deployments using tools like Ansible, gitops, terraform etc.,
- Experience with GitLab pipeline.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, Jira software.
